Black self-defence activists from the Black Panther movement gathered outside the Glynn County Superior Court in Brunswick, Georgia, on Friday, as the verdict was announced in the Ahmaud Arbery murder trial.

Activists can be seen gathering and giving speeches whilst the family of Ahmaud Arbery celebrated the verdict. Defendants Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and William "Roddie" Bryan were seen leaving the courthouse in handcuffs.

Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and William "Roddie" Bryan were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, who was shot when he was outside jogging.

The activists, which included the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, the United Black Power Militia, and the Panthers Movement called for unity, with one activist present stating, "so my brothers and sisters it's very important that we teach our youth, our children the importance of unity."
