Footage filmed on Thursday shows crews training on tanks and IFVs. The mobilised men shared their impressions of the training.
"There's nothing complicated. Hands remember everything. Someone gave you a little hint, the rest is a matter of technique," said one of the servicemen.
An instructor named Mikhail spoke about the main stages of the tank crew's training. According to the man, the tasks faced by the combat units include theoretical training, firing of a Kalashnikov tank machine gun, crossing trenches and firing from the ground.
"After firing the tank gun, runs on the move start. That is, the crew acts together with their mechanic. The gunner and commander act and move with the task of traversing trenches and firing from the ground," Mikhail added.
The instructor also said that the main challenge is retraining the recruits, as most of them were previously familiar with military equipment.
"People who last sat in tanks 20 years ago come, some 15, some 10 years ago, come, so training and retraining is going on here. Here, specialists are trained exactly in armoured vehicles," said the serviceman.
On September 21, following a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin, partial military mobilisation of 300,000 reservists began in Russia. Reports from various countries bordering Russia suggest that thousands fled the country since the policy came into force.
On September 30, Purin agreed to sign documents allowing the accession of regions into the Russian Federation.
According to Moscow, it followed referenda in which people living there exercised their right to self-determination and requested to join Russia. Ukraine and its international allies condemned the move, calling it an annexation of Kiev’s sovereign territory.
Moscow launched the military offensive in Ukraine earlier this year, after recognising the independence of the DPR and LPR.
Kiev condemned the action, while President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered martial law and his own full mobilisation in February.
