An eyewitness who lives across the road from the suspect involved in a shooting on Wednesday night shared his shock in footage from Thursday.
The witness described how the 25 police with German shepherd dogs were actively involved in investigating the scene. He further explained that at the beginning, as his wife and he heard the helicopter, that they thought it was "clans tearing each other apart, because I have always heard it before, that between the individual Turks, Albanians, Shisha bar - what that was, something there in that direction. But it has turned out to be something else; although I cannot exactly say what it was. But I mean the name Tobias R, that stands in the media, is no Turkish name."
Late on Wednesday a gunman reportedly opened fire outside one shisha bar in the city's Heumarkt district and drove off to a second location in the Kesselstadt district where he opened fire again killing nine people and injuring several others. According to reports, the suspect was a 43-year-old German citizen from Hanau.
Together with his 72-year-old mother, he was found dead at his address in the early hours of Thursday morning. The Federal Prosecutor has taken over the investigation while it is thought that a far-right terror motive is behind the attacks.
