President Joe Biden has tested negative for COVID-19 after First Lady Jill Biden received a positive diagnosis on Monday night, according to a statement released by the White House.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters during her daily White House briefing in Washington DC that the President is currently asymptomatic and that the couple's last phisical interaction occurred on Monday.

"As far as the steps that he's taking, since the president was with the first lady yesterday he will be masking while indoors and around people in alignment with CDC guidance", Jean-Pierre stated. "The president will remove his mask when sufficiently distanced from others indoors and while outside as well", the spokesperson added.

Jean-Pierre also emphasized that President Biden is diligently following the recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which advocate a combination of masking, testing, and symptom monitoring.

Regarding the first lady's condition, Jean-Pierre noted that Jill Biden had visited Florida alongside her husband on Saturday and is currently experiencing mild symptoms. As a precautionary measure, she will remain in Delaware for the week while undergoing necessary medical care.
