Residents of Orenburg used a mobile crane to evacuate a horse from a flooded house balcony on Friday, after rescuing the horse and sheltering it in the house during the floods in the region.

The footage captures the moment of the horse being carefully secured with a rescue harness and lowered from the balcony to safety on the ground.

Reports from local media revealed that the residents of the 'Osinka' nonprofit garden partnership made an outstanding effort to rescue the horse. Initially sheltered on the ground floor, the horse had to be relocated to the second floor when the house became inundated by floodwaters. Once the water had receded, he decided to employ a crane to facilitate the horse's safe descent from the balcony.

Flooding was reported in 39 regions of Russia, with the Altai region in Siberia, and Tyumen, Orenburg and Kurgan regions in Southern Urals under a state of emergency.

On Sunday, the head of the region, Denis Pasler, reported that 4,289 houses and 7,842 plots were still flooded in Orenburg. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, some 800 houses and 1,100 plots of land in the Orenburg region had been freed from water by Sunday.
