The 'Russian Knights' aerobatic team of the Russian Air Force took to the skies over the city of Kronstadt near St. Petersburg, to demonstrate the latest Sukhoi Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft, during the closing ceremony of the 12th annual "Fleet 2024" International Maritime Defense Show.
Footage released by the Russian Defence Ministry on Sunday shows the audience watching the air show, during which pilots of the aerobatics team soar through the air in formation, leaving a sparkling trail of pyrotechnics behind them.
The Defence Ministry reported that the 'Russian Knights' programme of group aerobatics included the Nesterov loop, barrel roll and virage turn. Pilots demonstrated pair, single and counter aerobatics, and spectacular elements including 'mirror', 'bell' and 'dissolution' figures, as well as the low-altitude and extremely low-speed pass.
The 12th annual "Fleet 2024" International Maritime Defense Show took place in Kronstadt from June 19 to 23, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
In addition to the 'Russian Knights' air show, the event featured Russian Navy warships and vessels, and a sailing regatta of the Navy Commander-in-Chief Cup.
According to the press service of the administration of St. Petersburg, delegations from 15 countries took part in the international maritime defence show.
