Description

At least 15 Palestinians were reported killed and scores injured following an Israeli airstrike on a shelter school in Jabalia Camp on Thursday.

Footage shows Civil Defence workers extinguishing the fire from the shelling, medical workers searching for victims and relatives of those killed crying and consoling each other.

“This is unjust, children have been torn to pieces,” claimed one woman.

The Israeli army confirmed in a statement posted on its Telegram account that it had hit the school. It did not comment on the claims about victims and has said that it does not target civilian areas of infrastructure.

The report said the IDF "accurately struck terrorists who were operating inside a command and control centre at the Fallujah school’, claiming that "Hamas terrorists were using the centre to plan and carry out attacks against the IDF and the State of Israel".

The war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza broke out on October 7 after the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

In the Gaza Strip, Israel launched a large-scale response of airstrikes and a ground incursion. Palestinian officials reported that 41,534 people had been killed and more than 96,092 injured at the time of publication.
