Description

Residents of the northern Israeli city of Haifa expressed their opinions on the IDF's operations in southern Lebanon as well as the performance of the Israeli government.

"I think the best what we can do after this war is for the people to choose a new government to see more new people more new faces, much younger politicians," one of the respondents said, adding that all the world needs 'much younger politics'.

Regarding the IDF's operation on southern Lebanon, another resident said, "It’s not the time to stop the war, because if the United nation now tells them to stop the war because they feel bad for the citizens of Lebanon, why they didn’t say anything about Israel, why didn't they stop Hezbollah launching rockets to Israel."

The IDF announced on Monday, launching a military operation with airstrikes on Hezbollah positions dubbed 'Operation Northern Arrows.’ The attacks have killed 632 people and injured over 2,189 others since Monday, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health at the time of publication. The shelling targeted several areas in the south, the Bekaa Valley, and Mount Lebanon.

Tensions in southern Lebanon have escalated over the past week, following mass pager and handheld radio explosions, which Hezbollah blamed on Israel. The IDF did not comment.

Hezbollah and Israeli forces have been exchanging cross border fire since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
