A live broadcast by the Iraqi channel 'I News' captured the moment an Israeli airstrike hit during a live interview with Lebanese journalist and political analyst Fadi Boudia from his home in the Beqaa region in eastern Lebanon on Monday.
Following the strike, the window behind Boudia fell on him and the glass shattered before he could escape. He was reportedly injured and his condition is unclear at time of publication.
On Monday, the Israeli army said it had launched ‘intensive and precise strikes against 'terrorist targets' across Lebanon. Lebanon's Ministry of Health reported 492 people killed and 1,645 injured at time of publication.
Hezbollah also conducted strikes on Israeli military areas in northern Israel, with Israel media reporting more than 200 rockets fired.
Tensions escalated over the past week following the mass explosions of pagers and handheld radios used by Hezbollah, with subsequent Israeli strikes on the south of the country and rockets fired from Lebanon into Israel.
The Israeli army has been exchanging cross-border shelling with Hezbollah, and Lebanese and Palestinian factions, since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023.
