Arsenal manager Unai Emery said he would use his experience of winning the Europa League after his side progressed to the final at the expense of Valencia on Thursday night.
"I try to learn from every experience I live," Emery told reporters at a post-match press conference from the Estadio de Mestalla.
"I learned from all those defeats. I learned the reasons why they happened," he added.
Valencia boss Marcelino dismissed talk of a widening gulf between English clubs and the rest of Europe, after Chelsea's victory in the other semi final meant it would be all-English finals in both of Europe's top club competitions.
"Last season it was the Spanish sides. A Spanish team won the Champions League. Two years ago it was two Spanish sides that contested the Champions League final," Marcelino responded.
Trailing 3-1 from the first leg, Valencia made the perfect start through Kevin Gameiro's early goal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled matters shortly afterwards and Alexandre Lacazette put Arsenal ahead.
Gameiro, tapped in Valencia's second of the night, before Aubameyang completed his hattrick. The Gabon striker converted a cross and then added a late goal to round off a 4-2 win.
Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the final in Baku on May 29.
