Businesses could be seen being boarded up in Minneapolis on Tuesday, as local business owners prepared for a third night of protests in the city.

On Monday night, demonstrators took to the streets to protest the killing of Daunte Wright, a 20 year old who was shot by Minneapolis police on Sunday. The protests led to the looting of a shopping mall, as well as at least 40 arrests. In videos shared on social media, protesters could be seen breaking shop windows, as well as clashing with police.

Wright was shot by officer Kim Potter and was later pronounced dead after he crashed his car several streets away after driving away from the scene of the shooting. Potter, a 26-year veteran of the Brooklyn Center Police Department subsequently announced her resignation on Tuesday, as did police chief Tim Gannon.

A police statement released on Monday said the incident was an accident, as the officer intended to use a taser, not a gun, on Wright.
