Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday ahead of the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

Macron and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will join leaders from the 21 member states of the APEC forum for the high-level talks as special guests.

The two-day APEC meeting starts on Friday, following the UN Climate Change Conference in Egypt and meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Cambodia, and the G-20 in Indonesia.

According to Thai organisers, the meeting will focus on responsible business practices, aiming to agree specific goals on issues like climate change, and sustainable trade and investment.
