"We are the last generation that still remembers the whole truth. Not from books or movies, we remember this from our grandfathers, who told us how it all happened in reality as they have fought in the war and felt this truth on themselves. Our generation still remembers these stories, but our children and our grandchildren don't. And if we don't pass it on to them then this truth will disappear," co-organiser Viliya Trubitsyna said.
"It is a very important day to show everyone in the world that you have to be against fascism and that we must not forget history," another participant stated.

The Immortal Regiment March takes place in Russia and in many countries of the world to commemorate the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in World War II, during which participants carry portraits of soldiers who served in the Red Army and lay flowers at memorials.
