Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted there is a chance his side will 'fail in the most beautiful way' after receiving the news on Monday at Melwood that he will be without stars Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for the second leg of their Champions League clash against Barcelona.

The Reds face an uphill task as it is after a Lionel Messi-inspired Barca side handed Liverpool a 3-0 defeat at the Camp Nou last week.

"Two of the world's best strikers are not available tomorrow night and we have to score four goals against Barcelona to go through after 90 mins, that doesn't make life easier," he said, after confirming Salah had indeed suffered a concussion against Newcastle at the weekend.

Firmino, who is also integral to the Liverpool frontline, missed all but 20 minutes in Barcelona and is a doubt to face the Catalans on Tuesday night at Anfield.

Away from the Champions League, Klopp said he wasn't sure whether he'd watch Leicester vs Manchester City, a fixture which will play a decisive role in whether Liverpool are to become Premier League champions.

"I'm not sure if there's any other football game tonight on telly," he joked.

Liverpool host Barcelona at Anfield on Tuesday night with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
