During an emotional testimony, Ross said that George Floyd approached her and offered to pray with her while she was in distress when searching for the father of her son at the homeless shelter.

Ross, the 13th witness for the prosecution, continued to provide details on their struggle with opioid addictions. "Both Floyd and I, our story, it's a classic story of how many people get addicted to opioids. We both suffered from chronic pain," she stressed.

The trial of the former police officer Chauvin begun on Monday. He has been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter and third-degree murder after being filmed kneeling on Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes, leading to his death.
