Witnesses provided testimonies and new police bodycam footage was revealed on the third day of George Floyd murder trial of ex-officer Derek Chauvin, in Minnesota, Wednesday.

One of the witnesses was Christopher Martin, a former employee at the convenience store who sold Floyd cigarettes, which Floyd allegedly attempted to purchase with a counterfeit bill.

When asked by a lawyer whether Floyd was "under the influence of something" while purchasing cigarettes, Martin said 'yes.'

"It kind of took him a little long to get to what he was trying to say. So, it appeared as if he was high," said Martin.

He added that he felt guilty, noting that " if I would have just not taken the bill, this could have been avoided."

When asked whether he continued working at the convenience store, Martin said no because he did not feel safe.

A testimony was also heard from Charles McMillian, who said he heard Floyd say "I can't breathe, mama they are killing me, " as the police officer was kneeling on Floyd's neck. The witness was also heard saying "You can't win" to Floyd and him responding: ''I'm not trying to win, I'm not trying to win. I'll go on the ground, anything.''

While shown footage of the incident, McMillian burst into tears, prompting the judge to call for a 10-minute break.

On Monday, the trial of the former police officer Chauvin begun. He has been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter and third-degree murder after being filmed kneeling on Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes, leading to his death.
