Argentina's security forces rushed to secure Buenos Aires' Chamber of Deputies due to a bomb threat on Monday, hours after a man was arrested for attempting to enter the presidential palace with a gun.
The bomb threat was made through anonymous calls at around 1:00 pm local time, prompting the intervention of a military team who secured the entrance to the building. A second bomb threat was reported at the Casa Rosada, the presidential palace, where security forces were also deployed.
According to government sources, no explosive devices were found at either site.
Officials also confirmed that earlier in the day a man who tried to enter the presidential building with a gun and seeking to meet President Mauricio Macri was arrested.
It is not yet clear whether the two incidents are related.
