The level of disruption caused by the building works on the Carbis Bay Hotel, which is set to host the G7 summit, left some guests and locals dissatisfied.

Construction works were still underway at the five-star hotel located by the coastline, with rubble scattered around on-site, as seen on Tuesday.

"The venue itself (is) absolutely stunning if the works was completed. There are a lot of clients here complaining because there is an awful lot of building works going on," shared a local.

Sarah Hocking, another Cornwall resident, said the positives far outweigh the negatives. "It will put Cornwall on the map, I mean Cornwall is a beautiful place to come anyway. I think we have to just think it's only for a few days."

The G7 summit is due to take place between June 11 to June 13 at the Cabris Bay Hotel in Cornwall this year, with leaders from the largest seven economies gathering at the seaside resort.

The Good Hotel Guide called the decision to host the summit at the Cabris Bay Hotel a "cruel and unusual punishment" for world leaders.
