Locals in Milan reacted to far-right League Party 's victory in EU Parliament elections on Monday.

"From my point of view the exit from Europe would be a viable alternative because now there is not a Europe of peoples but a Europe of the financial economy," said local Cristian Lobini.

Another Milanese citizen Bruno expressed opposite thoughts: "I believe that Italy should remain in Europe, I believe that Europe can be improved, so as to better integrate countries with different needs. But I also believe that the system for changing Europe is different from the one that the current political forces are implementing. Warring Europe is useless: we need to seek cooperation between countries, not the war."

The League Party, with its leader and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, won 34,3 percent of the votes, followed by the Democratic Party with around 22,7 percent. In 2014, the party won just 6,2 percent of votes.
