Protesters marched through the streets of Yerevan on Monday, demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The protesters were chanting 'Armenia without Nikol' and 'unity' while marching through the city.

According to media estimates, several thousand people took part in the protest.

Protesters started marching from Komitas Avenue and passed through the central streets of Yerevan until they reached the Holy Mother of God Kathoghike Church.

According to the local police report, about 40 people were detained.

Protests in Yerevan broke out after Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a Russian-brokered deal to end the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh on November 9. According to the trilateral agreement, a number of Nagorno-Karabakh districts came under the control of Baku.

The unrest resumed after Prime Minister Pashinyan rejected the call by the opposition to step down by December 8.
