Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker-Bowles arrived in Munich on Thursday, where they were greeted by Bavarian state premier Markus Soeder and cheering crowds.

Hundreds of people lined up at Munich's Max Joseph-Platz to welcome the couple, holding miniature Union Jacks and signs welcoming the newborn royal baby, while many displayed local costumes in a parade.

Charles was also gifted a pair of tiny Lederhosen, the traditional Bavarian outfit, for his new grandson.

Charles and Camilla, who are on a four-day visit to Germany, also paid a visit to Munich's state chancellery and the famous Hofbraeuhaus brewery, where they hit the dance floor and enjoyed local beer.

The couple are set to visit an organic farm near Leipzig on their last day of the German tour on Friday.
