US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that groups involved in potentially sanctionable activity in relation to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline are still being reviewed, during a press briefing held in Washington DC on Monday.

"We continue to examine entities involved in potentially sanctionable activity," said Price.

"We have been clear that companies risk sanctions if they are involved in Nord Stream 2," he added.

The spokesperson highlighted that more than 15 companies are not subject to sanctions as they made "good-faith efforts to wind down activities related to Nord Stream 2."

Once concluded, the pipeline would connect Russia with Europe across the Baltic Sea. The project is opposed by the United States.
