Russian Ambassador to Laos Vladimir Kalinin said on Monday that Moscow highly appreciated the country’s 'fraternal attitude' to Victory Day.
"It is a great honour for us to welcome the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith, as a guest of honour at the parade on Red Square in Moscow to commemorate the Victory in the Great Patriotic War over Nazi Germany and its allies," the diplomat added.
According to media reports, Sisoulith’s visit will last until May 11. The president is also expected to hold a meeting with the Russian Security Council Deputy Chairperson Dmitri Medvedev and visit the Russian State Pedagogical University in St Petersburg.
