Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Chernyshenko said that nine countries 'already want to host' competitions like the 'Games of the Future' phygital sport tournament, speaking on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival 2024 in Russia's Sirius Federal Territory on Saturday.

"Tomorrow we will be closing this first project in the history of mankind. We remember that the president gifted this format to the whole world, we see that nine countries already want to host such competitions, and the success is evidenced, of course, by the huge number of participants, top teams from 107 countries that have come to Kazan," Chernyshenko said.

He also mentioned that Brazil could be a potential site for the next Games of the Future, as well as noted a 'very good feedback' from the 'most representative' Chinese delegation.

According to Chernyshenko, the tournament was broadcast by 240 companies and platforms across the globe, while the total number of views reached 2.2 billion 'as of today'.

The 'Games of the Future' was the first ever phygital sports show to combine physical and digital competition, through 'real-life' sports and e-sports which was held in Kazan from February 21 to March 3 with around 2,000 people participated in the competition.

The World Youth Festival takes place on March 1-7. According to organisers, it intends to develop international youth cooperation and to bring together 20,000 young people. The regional programme will take place on March 10-17, during which the participants will visit 30 Russian cities.

The Sirius 'Innovation Science and Technology Centre' is the first federal territory in Russia located on the Black Sea coast near the city of Sochi.
