Pope Francis leads the traditional Christmas Eve mass in St Peter's Basilica on Tuesday, December 24.
He will also inaugurate the 2025 Jubilee, 'Pilgrims of Hope', with the ceremonial opening of the Holy Door.
The Holy Door at St Peter’s has been sealed since the 2016 Jubilee Year of Mercy.
The pontiff is set to open five Holy Doors across Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica and Rome’s other three major basilicas, marking the start of the Catholic Church’s jubilee - observed every 25 years.
Tens of thousands of pilgrims and worshippers are expected to gather in Vatican City.
