    Donald Trump is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States in Washington, DC, on Monday, January 20.

    Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the presidential oath of office on the steps of the Capitol, as Trump becomes the second American president in history to serve two non-consecutive terms.

    World leaders, personally invited by Trump, are expected to attend the ceremony.

    This marks only the second time an inauguration coincides with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the first being Bill Clinton’s swearing-in in 1997.

    The inauguration will take place indoors in the Capitol Rotunda due to low temperatures.
