Protesters took to the street of Glasgow to show solidarity with migrants and fight for climate justice on Thursday.

Participants were carrying signs reading 'Bored of borders' and 'COP26 act now. Stop fossil fuels' as the march led down Kenmure street where local activists successfully prevented a deportation raid several months ago. The demonstration proceeded to the Home Office Immigration Enforcement Reporting Centre in the west of Glasgow to mark a point against the British and European treatment of migrants.

I'm here today to support the migrant justice march and stand in solidarity with migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in Glasgow who fight the home office, who are being brutalised by the home office. And climate activists everywhere need to stand in solidarity with migrants everywhere," said Hwung, a member of the COP26 Coalition, a group that is dedicated to bringing together the climate justice movement.

While the two-week UN climate summit in Glasgow is supposed to end this weekend, the situation at the Polish-Belarusian border is intensifying as both the EU and Belarus deployed soldiers at their side of the border. Tensions between Brussels and Minsk have been escalating in recent months, with the EU accusing Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko of purposely sending non-EU migrants to the border in response to EU sanctions.
