White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the US is 'not looking at BRICS as evolving into some kind of geopolitical rival' ahead of the upcoming BRICS 2024 Summit, speaking during a press briefing in Washington DC on Monday.

In response to a journalist's question about whether the US administration is concerned that the bloc 'could undermine US economic or trade strength,' she emphasised that they are focused on 'working with partners around the world and building the broadest and deepest coalitions possible to help achieve our shared goals.'

"We’re going to continue to work with our relationships, our partnerships, whether it’s with Brazil, India, South Africa. And so, we’re going to continue to manage, certainly, those relationships. And with China, for example," Jean-Pierre elaborated.

Regarding the government's concerns over the possibility that what the US gives to the UAE within their cooperation on AI 'will then end up in Russia, China, or Iran's hands through the BRICS agreements,' she informed that US President Joe Biden 'took an executive action on AI' that two countries have been developing together for two years.

"Partnering is moving forward. And we believe it’s moving forward in the right direction," the WH press secretary proclaimed, adding that they "recognise the potential good of AI and look forward to, certainly, furthering that and solidifying our collaboration in AI as we try to build the safeguards and protections."

The 16th annual BRICS summit will be held in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24, 2024. Its regular members, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, as well as new members such as Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, are expected to participate.

Talking about Biden's reaction to US Former President Donald Trump's words about the 'enemy from within', Jean-Pierre called that language 'un-American' and 'dangerous', underlining that "that type of misinformation, conspiracy theories, is only hurtful, and that is not what Americans want to see as a leader."

She also touched upon the leak of allegedly classified US intelligence documents about Israel's Iran attack plan, claiming that the administration is 'aware of the reports' and 'very concerned', but refusing to 'get into details'.

"Was this, you know, classified? Was this not classified, I can’t get into that from here. That is something IC, and DOD, and DOJ can get into on those specifics," she said, noting that "they can speak to their, you know, how authentic, how real, any of those pieces."

US intelligence reportedly 'top secret' documents outlining Israel's retaliatory preparations against Iran, dated October 15 and 16, began circulating online on October 18 after being released on the Telegram channel Middle East Spectator.
