Former US president Donald Trump thanked American politician and former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after suspending his campaign, calling it a 'very nice endorsement' during his rally in Las Vegas on Friday.
"I just want to thank everybody. I want to thank Bobby, that was very nice, that was really very nice, it's big. He's a great guy respected by everybody," he added.
His speech followed the announcement of Kennedy Jr.'s plan to suspend his campaign and remove his name from the ballots in 10 battleground states. During his speech in Phoenix, he urged voters not to vote for him in the upcoming presidential election.
Trump also called his opponent Kamala Harris a 'copycat' for 'pretending to endorse' Trump's policies as she supported the elimination of taxes on tips.
"She's got a lot of other policies… She's a flip-flopper. You know she flips, she's a greater flip-flopper in history. She went from communism to capitalism in about two weeks," he said.
Kamala Harris promoted the tax-cutting policy following Donald Trump's proposal in June to cancel the imposing of taxes on tips for the service and hospitality industries in Nevada, according to media reports.
"If we win Nevada, we are going to win the whole thing," he said in conclusion addressing his supporters. "So I just want to thank everybody here. You're incredible people, I'm behind you 100 percent. November 5 you'll go, you're going to vote a little bit earlier than that but whatever you got a vote, make sure you vote a secure, because remember, they cheat like cow. "
Harris became the nominee after incumbent Joe Biden quit the race amid mounting concerns over his health and a much-criticised debate with Trump. Her Republican rival described her candidacy as a 'coup' against Biden, after the current president continued to insist he was best placed to win in the days and weeks before he stepped aside.
Donald Trump has already been nominated as the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election which will take place on November 5.
