Description

The Palestinian Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates (PBC) hosted a heartfelt event titled 'Gaza in Our Hearts,' in collaboration with Dubai Cares on Saturday, to launch a Ramadan fundraising campaign aimed at providing urgent relief for the people of Gaza.

Attendees at the event, adorned in traditional Palestinian keffiyehs bearing the message "Gaza in our hearts," gathered to show solidarity and support for the humanitarian cause. Signs displaying QR codes for donations adorned tables, providing a convenient way for guests to contribute to the initiative.

Dr. Tariq Mohammed Al Gurg, CEO and Vice Chairman of Dubai Cares, expressed deep concern over the famine-related deaths in Gaza, particularly among children.

"More than 25 children have died solely due to starvation," he lamented. Dr. Al Qarq highlighted the critical role of social media and Dubai Cares channels in mobilising donations, emphasising the partnership with ANERA to provide 5 million meals for the people of Gaza. The campaign, slated to continue until the end of the year, aims to alleviate the suffering of Gazans, with ANERA already providing over 21 million meals since the onset of the war.

Sean Carroll, CEO of ANERA, underscored the importance of community support in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

"People want to help with the humanitarian emergency in Gaza," Carroll stated. "When you give to ANERA through Dubai Cares here in the UAE, that funding will get to ANERA and allow us to purchase or transport donated goods that we deliver."

ANERA, a non-profit organisation established in 1968, has been dedicated to providing emergency relief for refugees and war-affected communities in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. Originating in response to the Arab-Israeli war of 1967, ANERA has remained committed to assisting Palestinians and others in need throughout the region.
