Description

Around 300 protesters marched through the streets of Washington DC on Saturday night, as they expressed their outrage over the police killing of 18-year-old black man Deon Kay.

Demonstrators temporarily blocked traffic in the Dupont Circle Underpass as they through the tunnel chanting slogans while carrying a banner calling for the police to be disbanded.

Kay was fatally shot by a police officer on Wednesday, with the police department subsequently releasing bodycam footage of the incident on Thursday that revealed he had a gun on him although it is unclear if he was trying to discard it at the time he was shot.

Demonstrations against police brutality and racism have been taking place in across the US since late May, following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of a police officer.
