Officers of the Romanian 4th Army and Wehrmacht's 11th Army can be seen preparing for their initial operation. Moreover, their tanks and aviation are shown attacking Odessa before it was captured from the Soviet forces on October 16, 1941.
The footage also features Red Army troops, tanks and artillery participating in Odessa Offensive which began on March 28, 1944. Soviet servicemen can also be seen entering the city on April 10, while residents were seen greeting soldiers following the liberation.
During the Siege of Odessa, the Romania reportedly saw 17,729 troops killed, 63,345 wounded and 11,471 captured or missing. The losses of the Soviet army amounted to 16,578 killed and 24,690 wounded.
