Egyptian karate gold medalist Feryal Ashraf landed in Cairo, on Thursday, arriving from Japan after the Olympics.
The athlete was greeted by fans as she boarded the double-decker bus, where she waved an Egyptian flag. People were performing traditional music and celebrating at the entrance of the terminal building.
The delegation reached the Olympic Center in , where a press conference was organised.
"It is a beautiful joy. I feel that all of Egypt shares this joy with us. When I came out of the airport door, I was surprised by this number, frankly, and salute to all Egyptians for this beautiful participation", Ashraf's mum said.
