"Of course, I'm always disappointed, but we've had a great time because France has beaten us very well. This is the first time we've seen the Americans fight, have the rage to win, and that was new for us as French people," said Nicolas, a French Fan.
American fans, on the other hand, expressed joy after victory, saying that it was a close tie as basketball competition is getting better.
"it was a close game at the beginning, even to the end. Serbia gave us a hard time in the semifinals - that's for sure," said Yvette Oatolaza, a US fan.
Meanwhile, American fans confessed that the French side had played well with "strength and intensity" against the more skilled NBA stars like Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum.
"France played well, they played hard. They couldn't make their free throws, which I think really hurt them a lot, but boy, they couldn't have played with more intensity. And they've got size and strength and youth, and a lot of the U.S. players are old now, so I think the future is with France," another US fan added.
Hosts France will get an attempt to revenge on the United States on Sunday afternoon, as the two nations will meet again in the women’s basketball gold medal game in Paris.
