Description

In a spectacular display of precision and planning, the Dutch Domino Team made an audacious attempt to break the amateur world record for the most dominoes toppled by a group, as they arranged 900,000 domino pieces, setting the stage for a dramatic cascade in Veenendaal, Netherlands, on Friday.

Following the event, it was reported that the team successfully surpassed their previous amateur record, which stood at 700,000 dominoes. Although this new achievement is remarkable, it still falls short of the current professional world record, an astonishing 4,491,863 pieces.

Footage from the event captures an array of intricate domino structures collapsing in sequence, with some sections showcasing dynamic changes and patterns as the tiles fall.

"So yeah, we've just toppled about 900,000 dominoes. Most of it has gone down, so we're really, really excited. Everyone is really happy. It went amazingly well. Better than expected, probably," said Olivier Wervers, a member of the event team.

"Right now, it's 900,000 dominoes, so the next obvious step is 1 million, which would be insane to pull off. But I think we can do it with this team that we've got," he added.

Although nearly all of the dominoes fell as planned, one section did not. Despite this minor setback, the team is confident they have set a new amateur world record.

The Dutch Domino Team, which consists of dedicated members, has been organizing and hosting its own domino events for the past 14 years, continually pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in the world of domino toppling.
