Thousands of people broke the Guinness World Record for most people dressed as Spider-Man on Sunday in Buenos Aires.

Footage shows the event participants wearing the iconic costume and interacting with each other during the gathering.

"What a nice feeling we are having because it shows what Argentinean madness is. It shows all the people who really want to get together and unite in a moment of tension," said Uki Deane, the event’s organiser.

According to local media reports, the event in Buenos Aires aimed to break the record established in June in Malaysia, when 685 people got together dressed as Spider-Man.

It is also reported that Deane, who organised the event via his social media accounts, also invited the event participants to bring food for donation.
