Former US president Donald Trump described Kamala Harris as 'dumb as rock', during a live interview with journalist Tucker Carlson at a campaign rally in Arizona on Thursday.
"Hillary was a liar, a horrible scoundrel," he said about his 2016 rival. "But this one (Kamala) lies so much and she's a low IQ individual. She doesn't even know she's lying. I'm telling you, this is not what you want for your president. That has nothing to do with me. This is not what you want. She's a very low IQ individual. She's dumb as a rock. And you can't have that. You can't have that."
Trump also told Carlson - who famously interview Vladimir Putin in Moscow in February - that he had 'killed' the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, before US President Joe Biden revived it, lifting sanctions in 2021.
The Kremlin called his comments the 'delirium of this election race'. The pipeline saw a number of blasts in 2022, with German authorities recently issuing a warrant for the arrest of a Ukrainian citizen - although Russia has alleged Western state involvement.
During the interview, Trump described former Republican Liz Cheney as a 'war hawk', saying: "let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let's see how she feels about it."
Trump faces off with Harris on November 5, with Arizona among seven tight 'swing states' expected to decide the race.
