Description

Hundreds of people took to the streets of The Hauge on Sunday to demand the Dutch government to cease its weapons deal with Israel amid its ongoing conflict with militant group Hamas in Gaza.

Footage shows protesters marching and chanting while holding Palestinian flags as some were seen wearing Iranian and Turkish banners. Police were also seen monitoring and detaining protesters following the demonstration.

"Our government has blood on their hands," a protester said. "They have been complicit in all ways for years."

Another protester called for end of 'genocide' in Gaza, stating: "I need the killing of all the children to stop, the killing of all innocent people."

The Dutch government announced it signed a weapons deal with Israeli arms manufacturer Rafael in September with an estimated worth of up to 250 million euros.

According to media outlets the deal involves upgrading over 200 medium-range anti-tank missile launchers to enhance their combat range.

Israel strongly denies claims of 'genocide' in its offensives in Gaza and Lebanon, saying that only Hamas and Hezbollah locations and personnel are targeted. The Netherlands government has also defended Israel's 'right to self defence' according to the 'principles of international humanitarian law'.

The Israel-Hamas war has continued for over a year, while the IDF recently began its campaign of airstrikes and ground incursion against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
