Description

A group of up to 100 migrants based at an improvised refugee camp near the Belarusian border moved between border fences, to come right up against a barbed wire fence set up by Polish frontier guards, on Saturday, as reported by TASS, citing the press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus. The migrants were seen facing Polish border forces stationed at the frontier.

In addition, military equipment was spotted apparently en route to the border area. It is not known at this time whether the movement of equipment is related to the migration crisis at the border.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed the military to streamline assistance to migrants at the border. Thus, according to the presidential decree, the military must set up tents in a makeshift migrants' camp, "where all incoming aid will be gathered and children will be fed.”

Monday, November 8, a large convoy of refugees from the Middle East and Africa headed towards the Polish-Belarusian border. Crowds of migrants, including women and children, have set up a tent camp and still remain there.

Due to the increasing number of attempts of migrants to enter Poland and EU countries through Belarus, Warsaw accused Minsk of fomenting a migration crisis in Europe.

In turn, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said that Poland's accusations of border violations by Belarusian servicemen and involvement in the migration crisis were invalid.
