Spain's Olympic men national football team celebrated its gold medal during an official ceremony in Madrid on Saturday.

Footage shows players and coaching staff posing for pictures and holding a press conference after that.

"They have all made history. Now they don't realise what they are wearing. They do realise it, but they will really appreciate it when they tell their children and grandchildren about it," Santi Denia, the team's coach said.

"Yesterday when we were all with our hands together on the podium, when the Spanish anthem was playing, that's when you really realise what you have achieved, and when you feel more like an Olympian. I think it is the greatest thing I have ever experienced and that we will ever experience," Sergio Camello, Spain forward added.

Following extra time, Spain beat France 5-3 in Paris on Friday to clinch the gold medal, the second in its Olympic history following the 1992 Games.

In the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Spain clinched a silver medal having lost the final 2-1 against Brazil.
