Description

Protesters staged a march through the streets of Portland late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning, on the third night of reprieve from clashes with federal officers after the agents withdrew on Thursday.

Thousands were seen taking part in the demonstrations, chanting familiar slogans like "No justice, no peace" and "Out of your homes and into the streets" with no reports of intervention from law enforcement.

Since Oregon State Police assumed security duties at the demonstrations, there have been no reported instances of tear gas being used to disperse crowds, which had become a nightly occurrence in recent weeks.

US President Donald Trump had previously given the police 48 hours to maintain order at the protests before threatening to send in the National Guard if this failed to happen.
