"[Are you guys not} since February, testing President Biden for Parkinson’s or for dementia because if he gets a bad result, it’s all over that day?" asked Fox News' Peter Doocy.
"We’ve shown the results of those physicals this past three years. We showed it just four months ago," she replied. "We are committed to continue to be transparent…. With all due respect, you’re not a doctor. I’m not a doctor."
"Why doesn’t anybody in the president’s family urge him just to go to get checked out to say the coast is clear?" Doocy tried again.
"Every president has a White House Medical Unit that is with him 24/7 — that is available to him 24/7. That is unlike any other American, right? That is not the norm," she stated.
Asked if the White House "would rather just not know" because if there was a 'bad result' then "he has to leave office", Jean-Pierre responded: "it's a hypothetical."
"Just to clear this up, the White House Medical Unit, his doctor, they don’t believe that he needs anything more than what we have been able to provide: a full detailed, very comprehensive physical that he had four months ago. That is their decision to make," added Jean-Pierre.
In recent weeks, speculation about the health of the 81-year-old president among media outlets and commentators has intensified, following a series of gaffes.
His performance in a televised debate with Donald Trump raised questions over the president's cognitive abilities, as the pair clashed over taxes, the border, Trump's ongoing legal issues, China, the Ukraine conflict - and even their golf handicaps.
Biden appeared to stumble and freeze several times while a snap poll found Trump the clear winner, with 67 per cent of those watching backing his performance to 33 per cent for the incumbent.
