Description

Palestinians were seen gathering around the ruins of a collapsed house to help retrieve bodies from underneath the rubble after an Israeli airstrike hit Nuseirat camp in Gaza's Deir al-Balah on Monday.

Footage shows locals carrying the bodies out of the rubble. One surviving child can be seen being carried away for treatment. Footage also shows emergency workers transporting a body away from the site.

According to local media, 14 Palestinians, including children, were killed in the attack. 'Dozens' were wounded and an unknown number of residents remain underneath the rubble.

The IDF confirmed on their official Telegram channel that Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck 'a war room' in central Gaza on Monday. The IDF reported that they 'eliminated five terrorists' allegedly operating in the three-storey residential building.

"Moreover, IDF troops eliminated by tank fire several terrorists that were moving toward IDF troops operating in the area," the statement added.

Israel has ordered large-scale evacuations in both northern Gaza and Rafah in the south, with military operations ongoing in both in the past days. Hamas described it as a 'dangerous escalation'.

On Monday,Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said the war would continue until the 'terror regime of Hamas' was removed. The US and allies have warned of huge casualties in the event of a full-scale ground offensive in Rafah, where over 1.4 million are sheltering.

Fighting continues for the eighth month in Gaza after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200 according to Israeli officials.

Israel declared war on the group and a 'complete siege' of Gaza, with a large-scale campaign of air strikes. A ground incursion began at the end of the third week, with Israeli leaders vowing to 'wipe out' Hamas. Palestinian officials reported that at least 35,000 people had been killed and more than 78,800 injured at time of publication.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) claimed that Hamas locations and infrastructure were targeted in the response. However, United Nations experts warned against 'collective punishment' for the people of Gaza, before predicting a 'humanitarian crisis' and then claimed that 'hell is settling in' for the region.
