Description

Commuters flocked to the Francisco de Paula Santander international bridge connecting Colombia with Venezuela, Friday, as Caracas continues opening its borders.

Residents observed as giant containers in Venezuelan tricolour were removed from the bridge after blocking the border cross for over two years, and municipal services cleared the bridge from the sand and debris.

Local and regional authorities supervised the reopening and gave a short comment to the press.

"We are not going to allow anyone to bombard this commercial opening, we are not going to fall into provocations of any kind, and we are committed to solidarity, to the reunion between Colombia and Venezuela", Governor of Tachira State Freddy Bernal stated.
