Description

Hector Chacon Cuellar of Guatemala City descended from the Las Vacas bridge dressed as Santa Claus to bring gifts to underprivileged local children during the Christmas season on Sunday.

Firefighter Cuellar wanted to do something special for local children living in poverty and insecure economic conditions.

He said, "when you live in an unsustainable economic situation you don’t pay attention to some things, and the first thing they forgot is the toys, because there are other priorities, so that’s why we bring them toys.”

“This is the first time I came here. I'm really happy to see the happiness in the children," one local said.

Cuellar, a local firefighter, started this tradition with his team and hopes to continue to bring joy to the local children in the coming years.
