Archive footage filmed in the 1960s features various industrial projects, infrastructure, and social programmes implemented in countries across the African continent with the assistance of the USSR.

Soviet doctors can be seen arriving at hospitals in the Republic of Congo and Ethiopia to train their colleagues and take care of patients.

Footage also features a milk processing factory, a meat cannery, a printing works and a secondary school, which were built with the direct participation of the USSR.

Soviet engineers and military specialists can also be seen talking with their African counterparts at construction sites, and during mine clearance activities.

The USSR reportedly signed co-operation treaties with 37 African countries and participated in building some 600 structures, including the Aswan Dam in Egypt, the Capanda hydroelectric dam in Angola, plants and factories in Congo and Nigeria, as well as other major infrastructure projects across the continent.
