During the visit, Burhan and Al-Sisi discussed bilateral relations between the two countries as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
The two sides discussed President Abdel Fattah's proposal to mediate in the conflict. Burhan said he welcomed the proposal, according to a statement by the Egyptian president.
Burhan is also expected to further visit Saudi Arabia, which is actively involved in the political crisis in Sudan as a mediator.
Around 4,000 people have been reportedly killed in Sudan since the fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF began in April, according to official figures.
About 4.6 million people have been displaced both inside and outside the African country, according to the UN migration agency.
A military council has run the country since a coup in 2021, with ongoing tensions between Burhan and RSF leader General 'Hemedti' Mohamed Hamdan Dagolo over the country’s direction, the integration of the RSF into the army, and the planned transition to civilian rule.
