Description

Given the impossibility of holding Holy Week processions due to the pandemic, the image of the Christ of Medinaceli was paraded on the streets of Valencia on Good Friday using a glass-enclosed vehicle.

The car, known as the 'Maremovil', travelled past cemeteries, nursing homes, hospitals and the Picassent penitentiary centre.

The initiative was promoted by the Cardinal Archbishop of Valencia Antonio Canizares, who accompanied the image of the Christ of Medinaceli during the tour while seating in front seat blessing the audience of the parade.

Marches and hymns of Holy Week in Valencia were played over the loudspeakers during the parade as many stood to watch and document the event.
