Footage filmed on Wednesday features the artist in her studio making her works as well as some of them being exhibited.
"I become a great collector of everything that seemed like garbage," said the artist. "When I look at dirt, I already see a work. I already see the figure", she added.
Flor Carvajal claims that she is the only woman who practices micro-sculpture in the world. Although there are other micro-sculptors with whom she has similar designs, they use different techniques and materials such as metal, wood, and pencil leads, while she works with synthetic resin and recycled materials.
"When you realise that, out there are Colombian people who do this, it's like a 'boom' ", said a visitor to the exhibition Natalia. "It's great because it means we are placing ourselves in another place. It means we are having another type of statement", she added.
As for now, Carvajal has reportedly made more than 400 pieces and continues to work to establish 'the Flor Carvajal Museum' of miniatures.
