"I think Brazil played excellent," said Edward Pollard, a fan of the US team. "They played with a lot of passion, and a lot of energy, they were out-match because of size and some talent, but I think they gave it their all. The USA is just the best when it comes to men's basketball. We dominate this sport".
Footage shows fans of both the US and Brazil teams leaving the stadium after the match with flags and placards. Despite the defeat, fans from both sides expressed satisfaction with the match and respect for the Brazilian team.
"It was a great game today. I knew that Team USA was going to come out there with a good tempo," said Erik, another fan of the US team. "We started the game off with a huge lead. Brazil did make a little comeback. I got nervous for just a few seconds, but then we went ahead and finished it off".
"I believe that Team USA will definitely win gold," he added.
